Mangaluru: Police crack robbery case: arrest two, recover Rs 16 lakhs in cash

Mangaluru, Dec 9: Urwa police have cracked a robbery case and arrested two involved in the crime and seized Rs 16,57,000 cash from them.

The arrested are Mohammed Shafi (26) and Mohammed Riyaz(19) from Nejikar in Belthangady.

It may be recalled that on October 20, at around 7.30 pm, the duo assaulted 64-year-old Ganesh Kamath and escaped with Rs 27 lakhs in cash. A complaint was registered at Urwa police station in this regard.

Recently, the Urwa police arrested the duo and seized Rs 16,57,000 cash and a bike.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of city police commissioner T R Suresh, assistant police commissioner Hanumantharaya, DCP Uma Prashanth, Anti-Rowdy Squad staff.
