Mangaluru: Strict and honest police officer Ravi Pawar transferred suddenly

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Dec 9: Ravi Pawar, who was deputed as police sub inspector after completion of his probation to Konaje police station on the outskirts of the city and who made the anti socials shiver at his name, is suddenly transferred to Belagavi north zone.

Many officers of PSI and inspector grade are serving in the city since decades. There are instances wherein the police officers, though transferred, have got transferred back to the city within a month using their political connections. Public has ridiculed the authorities of the police department who have transferred a honest officer within one year of assuming office instead of those who are in the city since many years.

Ravi Pawar's capability of bringing to book the matka dealers, apprehending of cow thieves and putting an end to the illegal sand extraction trade has made the eyes trun red of certain elements who do not like such strict officer. Just three months ago Ravi Pawar was in news for the same reason. Pawar was transferred from Konaje police station to Mangaluru North traffic police station a month ago. Now he has been transferred out from the district itself.

It is a irony that honest and dedicated officers are punished and transferred to remote locations by powerful anti-social mafias.

Ravi was my room mate during college days . I still remember how he is when it comes to discipline . Whenever we used to tell him to copy in class test he used to deny and not support it .he always used to say I will fail in exam but not cheat and pass .
When i first came to know he was going to join police department I exactly knew what he would do and also back of my mind I had a thought that he may also have politicians against him for his honesty and discipline.
Karnataka has 2 famous cops one being Annamalai and next one is my dear friend Ravi .

It saddens me to see all that is going on in our country. Whether it is the Congress or the BJP or any other government, the situation is exactly the same. As long as the police department is under the corrupt and unscrupulous politicians, nothing good can be expected to happen to this country. We are in an unfortunate position where criminals are the lords of this country and whoever doesn't fall in line will be in the firing line. Which upright and honest person will stand up and face the consequences? To hell with morality, to hell with principles and to hell with honesty.
