Mysuru: Will not speak more on religion, says Siddaramaiah

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (MS)

Mysuru, Dec 9: "I will not speak much on religion. If that becomes a controversy then it is difficult to handle," said former chief minister Siddaramaiah.

Siddaramaiah speaking to scribes on December 8 said, "People only pressurized me to make Lingayat religion. On one side were 'Viraktaru' and on the other were those who follow the tradition of gurus. I, who got sandwiched between the two factions, had to bore the brunt of false propaganda against me. All those who wear saffron robe are not monks. Only those who have sacrificed everything are monks."

"I had asked to form a high power committee and give me the report. We called the meeting and discussed the issue with everyone. M B Patil, Shyamanur Shivashakarappa, his sone Mallikarjuna, Eshwar Khandre and others took part in the meeting. They could not arrive at a consensus. So I was made the scapegoat and false propaganda was made against me. So from that time onward I am careful while speaking," said a smiling Siddaramaiah.

The former chief minister also said, "The election outcome of the five states will have its impact on the upcoming Lok Sabha elections also. Congress is going to gain power in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh."

But Sir, Your party president is full on Religiuos these days, claiming to be brahmin visiting temples with full publicity.
Modi has changed the narrative itself.
This assembly election in MP or Rajastan, no party talked about being secular , but about bieng more Hindu.
If this is not one of the Acche Din, what is?

My sincere advice to the former CM Siddarmaiah is avoiding bring religion in politics. He should have appoached to handle the crisis like 'Nehru'. More vocal in attacks like RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav.
I would say pose more question to BJP which it has promised to the nation during 2014 elections and RSS role during independence.
More they question you on religion, ask more question on their patriotism during independent struggle and development to the nation.
This is the only reason RJD Lalu has conspired to put behind bars which BJP-RSS has no answers for his questions.
Perhaps AAP and Communist are the only parties managing the politics without religion.
Don't give an opportunity to the opposition BJP dragged you to ugly bait. Be people's leader.
    Jai Hind

Siddu is a real gem for Karnataka. What he narrates here is genuine comments which doesn't go well with majority of readers. Appeasement using religion, is one of the worst form of political play. Religion should never be a part of any election propaganda. But, this is India with majority of population politically unpud! What appeals to them is religion, which virtually makes them blind to the actual reality. We are the monkey's who sit on a branch and cut the same branch!
