Daijiworld Media Network - Karwar (MS)

Karwar, Dec 9: Goa health minister Vishwajit Rane had earlier said that permission will be granted to fishermen around 60 km area from the state to transport fish to Goa. However, the police officers of Goa-Karnataka border check post have stopped seven trucks of the city, filled with fish, for not possessing the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) license by the supplying agents.

On the Saturday, December 8, ten trucks filled with fish had approached the Pole check post on the border of Goa. Among these, the police of Goa permitted three trucks, who were carrying fishes for fish mill were allowed to enter Goa. The rest seven trucks were sent back. In addition, three trucks coming from Maharashtra to Goa have been detained at Patradevi check post for not carrying the FDA licence as per the information given by Canacona police.

It is being accused that Goa FDA is bringing new acts every day. FDA had brought a rule that fish needs to be brought to Goa only in insulated trucks. Accordingly, fish was being transported from Karnataka in insulated trucks to Goa. However, now the trucks carrying fish from Karnataka and Maharashtra are being sent back from the border itself for not having FDA licence. Because of this rule, fishermen and fishing business people of outstation states are facing difficulty.

Goan's think about Cancer before you consume this cheap adultered poison. This fish is cheap to buy. But Cancer is difficult to diagnose and expensive to treat.

The easiest way to find the adulteration is the smell.
Smell: Notion that is associated with seafood is the stench, which only begins when they start to decay. If you have ever bought fish from the shore, you must have noticed that these only carry a saline scent. However, the formalin-contaminated fishes might not smell at all but the hack for that is to check if these are swarmed with flies or not. The latter will confirm your doubt.

I wish Karnataka fish stay in Karnataka only so that all classes of people enjoy our coastal tasty fish. Fish prices are raised to sky level and common people prefer eating chicken rather than eating fish. bring down the prices and provide sufficient fish to our own people then truck it to Goa.
