Mangaluru, Dec 8: Mangalore Branch of Southern India Chartered Accountants Students’ Association (SICASA) is organising CA students’ conference titled ‘Vidwath’ on the 12th and 13th of December, 2018 at Kudmul Ranga Rao, Town Hall, Mangaluru.

SICASA is the student body of SIRC of ICAI. Mangalore Branch has more than 2000 students pursuing Chartered Accountancy course. With a massive student strength backed by the technical and insurmountable knowledge of the Chartered Accountants guiding them, SICASA has strived its best to help its fellow students to flourish.

SICASA have been conducting activities like study circles, one-day technical seminars, conferences, sports, and students festivals for all round development of students and helping them become better professionals on the go.

Vidwath will comprise of 6 technical sessions presented by CA students, on various upcoming and relevant topics such as Indian Accounting Standards, GST, Income Tax, Imports and Exports, Artificial Intelligence, Benami Transactions etc. The conference will also host four special sessions by CA Madhukar Hiregange from Bengaluru on ‘CA examination’, by Dr G G Laxman Prabhu on ‘Small Little Things of Life,’ by CA Anand Prakash Jangid, Bengaluru on ‘Use of Technology in CA Profession,’ by CA Senthilanathan on the ‘Role of CA in shaping the future of Business’ and by CA Chandrakant Vaze, Mumbai on ‘Ethical Values.’ There will also be an open house session where students will have an opportunity to directly interact with the Board of Studies and get their queries addressed.

The conference is expected to have an attendance of 1000 plus delegates from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Shimoga districts.

The inauguration of the conference will be held on 12th December 2018 at 9 am and the past president of the ICAI CA G Ramaswamy will inaugurate and deliver the keynote address. The valedictory of the conference will be held on 13th December 2018 at 4.15 pm and Dr H Shantharam, Administrative Officer of Academy of General Education of Manipal will be the guest of honour.

The chairman of the Mangalore Branch CA Shivananda Pai, vice chairman CA Anantha Padmanabh, secretary CA Raviraj Baikampady, treasurer CA Subramanya Kamath, SICASA chairman CA Abdur Rehaman Musba, past presidents CA Bhargava Tantri, CA Keshava Ballakuraya and SICASA vice chairperson Anisha Lobo, secretary Rajath Prabhu and treasurer Radhavallabha were present.
