Udupi: Shirleen Almeida from district wins state level elocution competition

Udupi, Dec 6: Nehru Yuva Kendra had organized elocution competition in English on the occasion of Republic Day and celebration of Indian Constitution Day. It was aimed at inculcating among the youngsters a sense of patriotism and involvement with nation building activities.

The competition was held at taluk, district, and state levels.

Shirleen who represented Udupi district in the state level competition stood first at the state level competition held at Bengaluru. She won Rs 10,000 in cash and certificate.

Shirleen is a second year B Com degree student at MGM College here. She happens to be the daughter of Ivan D'Almeida and Samantha D'Almeida from Moodubelle here.
