Controversy erupts over Congress connection of Michel's counsel

New Delhi, Dec 5 (IANS): A controversy erupted on Wednesday after a Congress activist appeared as a counsel for British national Christian Michel in a CBI court in the Rs 3,600-crore AgustaWestland VVIP chopper deal case.

The row started after Suresh Nakhua, Spokesperson of the BJP's Mumbai unit, tweeted that Aljo K Joseph, who appeared for the Michel, was national incharge of the legal department of Indian Youth Congress.

"Any guesses who is lawyer for Christian Michel? Mr Aljo K Joseph, National incharge, legal department, Indian Youth Congress (Youth wing of Cong led by out on bail Rahul Gandhi)," he tweeted.

Soon after, In-charge of BJP's national Information and Technology department Amit Malviya tweeted: "Meet the Congressman who is going to defend AgustaWestland 'middleman' Christian Michel... Does it get more obvious than that?."

Reacting to it, Joseph accepted that he was associated with the Congress but clarified that he appeared in the case in his personal and professional capacity.

"I am an advocate and appeared in my personal capacity. If somebody asks me to appear on his behalf, I have discharged only my duty as a lawyer. This has nothing to do with Congress. My relationship with Congress is separate and my professional relation is separate," Joseph said.

As long as Rahul is projected a PM candidate, its not going to work.
If you dont announce opposition Pm candidate, Modi is going to take advantage of it.
Rahul will not allow anybody else to be announced as Pm candidate.
    there lies the problem.
If you dont get it, wait till 2019 election results.

    People,

Bansuri, Sushma Swaraj daughter was lawyer for Lalit Modi, Jhootly himself was lawyer for Bofors accused. if you pay money lawyers will represent Devil himself...if you want to pay a bribe ...pay to a Lawyer and say its legal fee...bribe becomes purely legal...and pavitrr...

Regarding Augusta Westland case ....I am sure some top CONgress leaders eaten commission...and it will be proved with this guy Michael....

This corruption...paying commission outside country to avoid detection...is going on since 1947...this should stop...some more people need to give Company to poor Lalu...who is fighting corruption charges alone...

I also want people who took commission in Rafael deal to go to prison as well...along with Augusta Westland Chors...so Indian politics becomes clean...

    ...Tak...Takk...

Rather Kapil Sibal should defend Christian because never know how the Modi gang will twist the case, twisting every statement given by the accused so that the pointer will precisely end at Sonia Gandhi, not displaying names of Thyagis anywhere.

The nation should know the exact picture what is happening because CBI is already in the clutches of Modi.

You mean bribed/coaxed/threatened into revealing? Modi's attack dog, the CBI could prove anything in the so called scam and needlessly dragged the name of a decorated war vet and a fighter pilot like Air Chief Marshal Tyagi into this mess. It was a scam that never was!!!!

With 2019 so near, Feku and Daaku will try every trick in the book to hide their pathetic governing and , diplomatic failures and the fact that Feku's misadventures have become a laughing stock. Sadly chaddis being the andh bhakts they are, cannot see it!!!!

How was it OK for Jaitley to have taken up BOFORS case, yet be in BJP ? How was it OK for Jetmalani to have taken up defending (1) Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh (2) V. Hariharan (Murugan) ?

The above is just to name minimum.

    Jennifer
Jetmalani is not connected to Sikh religion. He defended the accused nothing wrong on him. Here the party which has been accused of taking bribe and the head of legal cell of that party defends the accused. Clearly shows the involvement of the party.

Oh ?? That explains about Jetmalani. What about Arun Jaitley ? His dragging the BOFORS case for decades and pocketing money out of it ? What did he prove ? Are we Indians fools to be booting these high profile counsels charges ? How he remains in BJP despite being a failure to prove what was alleged ?

Well, we are just talking about the first generation, we have not yet come to his and Susuma's second generation.

Neither BJP has done any extraordinary adventure by catching a Chaprasi/Peon and bringing in where congress has nothing to do with him!?!?!?!?....
FYI his statement can not be held as evidence in court of law. It's just BJP's misadventure to make headlines and fool people but if you read the full story a different picture emerges.
