Better make mangalore airport as Airforce base. Jet airlines already exited next SpiceJet.
Can be used as domestic and cargo. And we intelligent mangaloreans fight for nothing.

Since when Mangaloreans have become intelligent. At the drop of a hat there is Hindu-Muslim fight and its totally communalized environment. No one can think beyond their religion and caste. I want to know which IDIOT called Mangaloreans as Buddhi Jeevi.

Before deciding to pour hundreds of crores more to Mangalore airport, authorities need to look at the Kannur airport more carefully. The biggest question of course is the current main runway and wind direction and how far it can be extended to accommodate larger aircraft. If they need to spend say over Rs. 2000 crores to cater the needs for the next 30+ years, then, better to build a new one nearby mostly on a government land where there are no deep valleys to fill (100+ feet deep).

This is called real development and being a small city Kerala has build its 4th International Airport. For decades our ruling and elected representatives are busy in petty communal issues and burning of Mangalore. Congratulations and all the best to all Keralites for having this beutiful airport in Gods own country.

Mangalore airport looks like a bus stand when compared to this swanky modern airport. Shame on our local MP's. If Janna Anna was our MP this situation would never have arisen.
