Mangaluru: Manthan to conduct workshop on journey toward selfhood

Mangaluru, Nov 20: A social enterprise was established in the city with an aim to bring positive mental health to the common man and to simultaneously build the capacity of mental health professionals here and the surrounding region.

Manthan in partnership with Lifelab International, a human capital development social enterprise in India and abroad have partnered to create a space for interventions in various issues individuals face during different stages of life. The partnership is looking forward to work with individuals, children, parents, professionals and corporates.

The team comprises of professionals who come from various capacities in the mental health field who look at a holistic perspective toward healing. Also, the team trusts that the client has the power, potency and resource required to self-discover and heal.



The immediate programmes include:

A workshop on December 29 and 30 for parents and children, titled 'May I play'. It is a workshop to create space between the child and the parents using the concepts of transactional analysis, expressive art therapy, psychodrama and developmental psychology. The team comprises of:

Haseena Abdulla is authorised to teach, supervise and practice psychotherapy by ITAA (International Transactional Analysis Association) which is an international body of Transactional Analysis. Haseena is the director of Project Interventions in Lifelab International, a human capital development social enterprise in India. She is a PTSTA- Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy) and is professionally associated with International Transactional Analysis Association, USA and SAATA (South Asian Association of Transactional Analysis). She is a post graduate in psychology and sociology. Haseena is also a certified psychodrama practitioner from Moreno’s Institute, Germany. She integrates gestalt therapy, NLP, Hypnotherapy and movement therapy in her eclectic approach of work.

Kabeer is an ace facilitator known for his unique competency to integrate multiple tools of life enhancement with system of teaching and learning giving due consideration to the practical realities of schooling process and home environment. He owns rich experience in India and Middle East supporting students, teachers, parents and educational institutions over a period of 25 years. Kabeer holds post-graduation in Psychology and Sociology (gold medallist) with MPhil from Delhi School of Economics.

Chaitali Shetty is personally driven in the field of mental health. Positive and solution-oriented conversation are her cardinal traits. She has more than ten years of work experience and six years of experience as a school counsellor in Doha. She is trained in psychology and social work with mental health as a specialization from the top university of India, Tata institute of social science (Mumbai). Chaitali is also a certified Psychodrama practitioner from Moreno’s Institute, Germany and is also a registered psychometric assessor with British Psychological Society.
