Bengaluru, Nov 20: A head constable, who had received reward from police officer Ravi Channannavar recently, has been arrested for sexually assaulting a lady home guard.
Chandra Shekhar, who is serving at Jnanabharati police station, is the arrested person.
According to police sources the accused entered the woman's house on Monday November 19 and raped her.
The accused got in touch with the victim who serves at the same station. After few days, the accused reportedly molested her several times. On November 16, the woman was once again molested by him. The victim informed about it to an officer and he was warned by the higher officials to mend his ways.
On Monday, the accused entered victim's house and raped her in revenge.
Following complaint by the victim, the police have arrested the accused and have been produced in court.
It may be recalled that DCP Ravi Channannavar had rewarded Chandrashekhar for nabbing a notorious chain snatcher.
