Mangaluru: Different areas in coast receive vastly varying quantum of rainfall

Mangaluru, Nov 20: The Karnataka coast received good rainfall on Monday November 19. Many areas received rain during the evening while the city got drizzle in the early morning. A few areas in the city got light showers even in the afternoon.

Morning drizzle was reported from Kotekar, Beeri, Talapady and surrounding areas. The other places which got rainfall happen to be Sullia, Puttur, and Haleyangady. Mulky got heavy rain for some time. In Bellare, along with moderate rain, thunder and lightning were experienced. Vittal, Savanur, Mundoor, Narimogaru and nearby areas got heavy rain with thunder and lightning. Bantwal reported light drizzle while Kadaba experienced normal rainfall.

In Udupi district, Udupi, Karkala and several places got rain. Karkala got light rain with thunder, while Bajegoli and Hosmaru got good rainfall. Padubidri and Kollur received some rain.

Lightning struck a house belonging to Dayananda Gowda in Murattapalke within Belalu village in Beltangady taluk on the night of Sunday, inflicting heavy damage to walls and electrical wiring. A calf inside the cattle shed of the family died due to lightning. Mud in the backside of the house suffered landslide. The family members had a providential escape as they were in front of the house at the time.

Lightning also damaged CCTV camera, two inverters, 20 LED bulbs and fans in Lord Mahalingeshwara temple office at Basrur near Kundapur.

    Whatever water now falls on surface of earth now (after November)try to retain it on ground surface , that will increase ground water level . May meet summer requirement - KRISHI Honda's Everywhere

    Do some constructive works rather than wasting time in Elections : debating Politics .Religion...
    Focus on matters of grave importance.for better standard of Living..
    The entire stretch of our Coast should be built up with Granite Boulders and TETRA PODS....
    Start Planting Mangroves for ecology...All marine Life can be multiplied..
    Build break waters to/Dykes. to stop the pressure of Ocean waves.. and stop soil erosion..(Like in Netherlands)
    Tap the Incoming water flow from Tributaries into the Rivers to the Ocean going a waste...
    Build Diaphragm walls and Mini dams to tap the water and increase the Water table..
    Start Planting Trees : we don't want Mangalore to be another Gas chamber like DELHI
    So, plan the city like Dubai/Singapore...
    Chandra babu Naidu is doing a great Job with Singapore designer/Architects.
    follow him at least.
    build Bicycle /walking trails......
    All Side walk should be laid with SAWN Chapdis...
    Build proper Drain water storms.well covered with Chapdis...
    Start water transport/water ways Professionally..
    Invite specialists from various to set it up for us... from China..... Taiwan.. Japan..etc.
    Start building Bus stations..
    Build public toilets with all facilities.
    Build Over head bridges/Pedestrian crossing/ Underground Tunnels...for safety of children/people.
    All old vehicles spewing Smoke ..should be barred...License revoked.
    Fine left /right center for discipline..
    Install..Traffic Lights/signals/
    STOP signs all over..
    in the city..near schools/hospitals.
    Build Museums/ (Broadway for Cultural shows )/ Town halls/City halls..
    Build High rise towers like in Singapore..
    Mixed use developt
    all provided...like Car parking/Go downs....show rooms
    office s....residence.
    Build Mangalore a Unique city..
    Livable and lovable place.For people and Tourists..Lively.
    Make it Green /Eco friendly.abdulla

    Intensity of lightning in increased after construction of UPCL/ NAGARJUNA, but all related officials and politicians are act like dumbs.
