Bantwal: Accident involving ambulance - pillion rider killed

Bantwal, Nov 19: After an accident happened between an ambulance and a two-wheeler near Melkar Junction here in the wee hours of Sunday, November 18, the pillion rider of the two-wheeler lost  his life.

The victim of this accident was Farooq Aladi (23) from Ammunje in the taluk. Muhammed Shariff, who was riding the two-wheeler, suffered injuries. Both Shariff and Farooq were moving in their vehicle towards Ammunje from B C Road after work. When they tuned their two-wheeler which is yet to be registered, at Sajipa Cross, an ambulance which came from the direction of Kalladka hit the rear end of the motor bike. Both the people seated on the vehicle were injured, and they were admitted into a hospital at Thumbe.

Farooq breathed his last  on Sunday morning without responding to treatment. He was working for a firm that rented Shaminanas for
programmes.

The front portion of the ambulance and the entire two-wheeler suffered damages in the accident. A case  stands registered  in traffic policestation  here relating to this accident.
