Udupi, Nov 19: After a car hit a woman waiting to cross the road near Mastiamma temple, Ambagilu here on national highway 66, she lost her
life. This incident happened on the night of Saturday November 17,
The deceased was Ashwini (19) from Ron taluk in Gadag district. She was currently put up at Nayampalli here.
Ashwini, it is gathered, had finished her day's work in a canteen besides Lalxmi Venkatesha temple at Puthur here and was waiting in front of the temple to cross the road when this unfortunate accident happened. Allegedly, a person named Sujit who was driving his car in the direction of Santhekatte from the town in a negligent and reckless manner hit the lady.
Ashwini fell to the ground and suffered grave injuries. She later died in a hospital. A case about this accident was registered in the traffic police station here.
