Karkala: Melwyn D’Souza arrested for killing brother over property dispute

Karkala, Nov 18: The Karkala police have successfully nabbed an accused who was absconding after murdering his own brother over a property dispute.

Melwyn Santhosh D’Souza from Mangalapade in Karkala is the arrested. He had murdered his brother Avil D’Souza.

It may be recalled that on March 30, 2018 the brothers had a fight over a property. In the fight, Avil D’Souza had first attacked Melwyn and the latter retaliated and hit him with a rod killing him on the spot.

In order to destroy the evidence, Melwyn carried his brother's body and burnt it Ramasamudra area in Karkala.

Police circle inspector Halmurthy Rao who was known for his work in Kaup limits and got transferred to Karkala carried the operation along with SI Nanja Nayak. While questioning he confessed to the crime.

Melwyn has been booked under IPC sections of 302, 201 at Karkala police station.

    its not earned property by self but from Father or ancestor right... property dispute arises everywhere but killing someone above the limit... property matters specially for children its parents wish and when they are alive should settle these issues.

    ..todays life money & property nobody will give up.... better earn and do your needs dont depend on family or fathers property, when u earn and do you know the struggle and pain behind it... when u dont earn and wait for OC property such incidents happens.

    But the real problem is morality is diminishing day by day.
    People forgetting the value of peaceful & respectful lives.
    Building are becoming bigger and bigger.
    But character, moral values building activities are diminishing.

    what has this brought now at last end?A case of murduring,long years in prison,loss of property too I am sure and cant enjoy it.Bad name for the family,children too would be chased in school .Athough he must have done it in a self defence,came to the fatal end.As younger brother could have gone out of the way of fighting brother.sad .He should repent for his doings.Ask God to forgive him.
