Kaup, Nov 16: “Janaushadhi center which was inaugurated by MP and local MLA promising cheap medicines for people in Katpadi has closed its door several days ago. People are deprived of the medicines due to lack of will and irresponsibility of MLA,” said former MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake.

He was speaking in protests held here by Kaup Block Congress against sudden closure of Kaup Janaushadi center.

KPCC secretary Deviprasad Shetty Belapu said that like several programmes of the union government which are meant only for publicity, the center also has several drawbacks. “Prime Minister Modi, liar and cheat made false promises of financial assistance to people asking them to open bank accounts and cheated them. His contribution was increase in prices of petrol and gas that have added to the problems of people,” he said.

Activists took out a procession in the leadership of Kaup block congress president Navinchandra Suvarna Adve from Kaup Rajiv Bhavan to taluk office shouting slogans. They later submitted a memorandum to deputy tahsildar.

State backward class unit secretary Shivaji Suvarna Belle, State Wakf committee vice president Gulam Mohammed and local Congress leaders were present.
