Karkala: Hebri taluk - protesters demand appointment of tahsildar, other facilities

Karkala, Nov 16: MLA representing this constituency, V Sunil Kumar, demanded immediate appointment of tahsildar to Hebri, which has been newly created as a taluk. He said that site for the taluk office building has already been identified in the five-acre plot adjacent to the degree college at Hebri.

He was addressing a mega protest meet held in front of the new taluk office at Hebri on Thursday November 15 to protest against the delaying tactics in providing basic infrastructure and lethargy of the district administration.

Raita Moarcha district president, Mutlapady Satish Shetty, demanded for opening of all the offices that a taluk need to have, at Hebri and other taluks. Failing compliance, he warned of holding strong protest;.

The protesters who held hunger strike at the spot  insisted on the arrival of Karkala tahsildar there. Tahsildar, Muhammed Issac, arrived there, accepted their memorandum, and said that site for the taluk office building has been identified. He said that the development of software is in progress and shortly  staff would be recruited to this office. He thought that all these things would be completed in about two months.

Leaders of various organizations including Jaycees, Rotary Hebri agricultural service cooperative bank and others were present.
