Mangaluru, Nov 15: Chetana Child Development Centre, here in association with GSB Mahila Mandal in the city, recently celebrated Deepavali in a gala manner.
Chetana Child Development Centre situated on VT Road in the city is an institution dedicated to the nurture of special children. It is managed under the auspices of Seva Bharati.
Prabha Pai, president of GSB Mahila Mandal inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. The children of the school too joined her in lighting the lamp.
The children, along with the school staff and Mahila Mandal members joyfully danced around the lamp singing Bhajans. The children also enjoyed bursting of crackers.
Puja for Goddess Laxmi Devi was performed on the occasion. Sweets were distributed to all as prasadam. Nagaraj Bhat, secretary of Seva Bharathi, the school headmistress Supritha, the school staff and volunteers were present on the occasion.
