Udupi, Nov 14: A helpless situation faced by poor patient Ganesh (38) who could not get emergency dialysis at district hospital here, came to light on Tuesday November 13.

The doctors who saw the serious condition of the patient had asked the relatives of the patient to go for dialysis procedure immediately. They rushed the patient to the dialysis center of the hospital, but it is said that the hospital staff did not respond to the need even after two days of repeated requests.

Patient's relatives finally explained their plight to social worker Vishu Shetty Ambalpady who arranged dialysis for the patient at a private hospital and saved his life.

It is said that Vishu Shetty had written to the concerned department requesting for additional dialysis machine to prevent deaths of those who get admitted as in patients at the hospital. He has expressed anguish over the indifference by the department. He has urged the department not to play with lives of poor people but respond to the problem.
