Karkala: Abbanadka Friends Club Nandalike celebrates Deepavali

Karkala, Nov 13: Nandalike Abbanadka Sri Durgaparameshwari Friends Club (R) celebrated Deepavali festival in a unique way.

Traditional lamps in earthen diyas were lit during the celebration. In addition, crackers were burst and sweets were distributed during the celebration.

Speaking on the occasion, Vittal Moolya, founder president of the club said, "When we think of Deepavali, the first thing that comes to our mind is bursting of crackers. Due to the huge sound that is created by bursting them, we come to know that Deepavali festival is being celebrated. With the protection of the environment in mind, it is really a good development to see that crackers which do not make sounds, environment-friendly and protect the animals, birds and children are burst."



Nandalike Rajesh Kotian presided over the function. Abbanadka Sandeep V Poojary, convener of the club, Crasabailu Suresh Poojary, immediate past president, Golikatte Harish Poojary, vice-president, Belman Balakrishna Madivala, former vice-president, Prashant Poojary Nandalike, secretary, Satish Poojary Abbanadka, president of Abbanadka Saarvajanika Sri Ganeshotsava Samiti, Sandhya Umesh Shetty, secretary of women organizing secretary, Pushpa Kulal Nandalike, Sulochana Kotian and Harinakshi Poojary, members of the club were present.
