Bengaluru: Woman kills parents, daughter, before ending life

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Nov 13: In a heart-rending incident which came to light on Monday November 12, a woman fed poisonous tablets to her three-year-old daughter and parents before committing suicide. She also left behind a death note. The deaths came to light after two days.

Apparently the woman took this extreme step, having been overwhelmed by the fact that a person to whom she had handed over an amount of Rs 25 lac for acquiring a house had died in an a recent accident. She was almost certain that the money she gave to the person will not return. She was overtaken by the feeling that the house she was trying to acquire will never be hers, it is said. The four persons who lost their lives in this incident are Sudharani (29), her daughter, Sonica (3), parents, Janardhan (55) and Sumitra (45).

The police said that the death note does not contain name and address of the person to whom she had given the money. Vidyaranyapura police, who have registered the case, have begun investigation from various angles. They also have questioned Arjun, husband of Sudharni, to put together loose links.

The bodies have been kept in M S Ramaiah Hospital here. A senior police officer said that the postmortem report is expected to throw light on the real cause of their deaths.

Sudharani had married Arjun from Mathikere four years back. The couple had a daughter named Sonica. Arjun had a medical shop at Mathikere which was operated by Sudharani.

Sudharani arrived at the residence of her parents on Saturday afternoon along with her daughter. After that, the door of that house had remained locked for two days. At around 2.30 pm on Monday, owner of the house noticed foul smell emanating from the house. He knocked at the door but there was no response. Growing suspicious, he called Sudharani's husband who came there and found her wife, daughter, and parents-in-law dead, the police stated.

The police on arrival found that Janardhan and Sumitra had died on their bed when sleeping while Sudharani and Sonica were together. The police are yet to verify the handwriting to make sure that Sudharani had written it. They also pin hopes on the postmortem report. Their investigation will get further impetus if they are able to find out the person to whom the said amount was given.

Sad,that five lives are gone specially two small innocent children.I feel it is a foul play from husband.Just check whether house was closed from inside or outside. Then most important point is husband has a medical store ,Deathnote says woman has given tablets to all. From where came tablets?poison?Never.she will not kill her parents and children because she failed to get back money .Now make two plus two and the result will be simple .he hmself must have written it.Tablets he must have given to her saying some vitamin tablets and sent to her mother house..wife believed it and had the fatal result.Of course doubting someone is not goodand wrong.but facts here say something else.RIP souls of them may rest in peace.

In this case culprit is husband and as per the report mentioned in this page looks like husband had given poison to in-laws and also created a scene of suicide.....

This is my guess and am not sure.

Very sad incident. Failure is not fatal and en end. it is the courage to move on that counts. However, it is better to check from all the possible angles to see what really happened and to check is there any other twists.

The death of all 4 are death under mysterious circumstances; I think, it may not be suicide. The wife looks very charming in the photograph and also her father looks very brave, manly person. Investigation authorities will definitely find out the real culprit.

Please do not generalise the situation and criticise ladies. Even men too fall prey or are being traped to plots hatched by others. Here there is no claim from her own husband that the money was belonging to him. Let the invstigation process complete first.
Here the incident looks bit misterious.

@sri-elder -karkala,dont give your verdict too early before anything is cleared.women are in a position to take responsibility, but not men are noteven bother to ask whats happening at home for two days, until police had called. Here clear sign is that daughter will not give poison to her parents, second really given out by wife or husband? And to coverup the lost money ,husband had plyed some faul play?I find post martum is not necessary.first check who drew money from bank and the reason given is so weak that speaks who is here culprit.RIP all four of you and two little angels.May be two girls were for him too heavy, instead of male child?

Very very sad news. I cried for the unfortunate end of the little angel. I smell something fishy in this issue. Police should do thorough questioning with deceased Sudharani and the person who received money from the lady. We look forward for the reality in near future.

How can you interrogate deceased Sudharani and the person who received money who also died in an accident, can you please throw some light?

Certainly there is some foul play, since the Husband has not contacted the family for 2 days until the landlord called.

Only when we have presence of mind we find it madness. The lady lost her presence of mind due to some problem where she thought there is no solution. She needed badly counselling at that time so that tragedy could have been avoided.
