Bantwal: Married woman alleges rape attempt on road

Bantwal, Nov 12: Nirmala (35), wife of Sundar Byra from Serkala in Kolnadu village near Vittal has filed a complaint of rape attempt at Vittal police station. She has identified the culprit as Ashraf, son of Ramla Beary, resident of Barebettu Madaka near Kallamajalu, Kolnadu.

Nirmala said in her complaint that she was going to remit money belonging to self help group on November 9. When she reached Padaru, Ashraf, who arrived there by motor bike stopped her. "He sought the cellphone number of my husband. He claimed that he is in possession of some obscene photos featuring me and threatened to upload them on social websites if I did not succumb to his advances," she said. Nirmala says that he dragged her by her hand and tried to rape her.

Vittal police who have registered the case are investigating.
