I think it is better to divide the country for the purpose and live peacefully for ever. Otherwise this issue will never sttle peacefully.

    Wilfred,
Diving country won't serve the purpose.
One or other problems will always be there because all the problems are created by politicians and every country has to have politicians.
They will always play cards like :-
    Hindu / Muslim
    Hindu / Christians
    Sunni / Shia
    Brahman / Dalit
    Romans / Anglicans
    Whites / Blacks
    Believers / Non Believers
    Sunni / Salafi

Bottom line is, politicians must gain on any cost.

Grand Ram Temple must be built but funds should be raised from the Donors and not from public treasury or trough exchequer like; Sardar Patels statue was raised spending Rs. 3,000.- tax payers money.

In the end the temple will only be built under a congress government. Majority Hindus and muslims will approve it, except the sanghis who will try their level best to scuttle the construction, as they can only survive and thrive by polarizing and dividing people.

Point of difference is the place where temple and masjid has to come. Traditionally Hindu temple are built on the basis of certain sashtras and direction. The argument of Hindu community is the place where masjid was built was earlier a temple and built according to Hindu temple customs. Masjid can be built anywhere as long as the prayers can be conducted facing Mecca. Hindus and Government is willing to give an alternate place and bigger one to build a Masjid Certain die hard fabrics are against the proposal. Secondly I have seen many masjids being demolished and rebuilt in different places in UAE personally.

@sri-elder -karkala,it is not a good idea to build a temple there,or a Mashid.Because there will be never peace at all.Once the mashid is destroyed ,why should the muslim brothers build a mashid elsewhere? And who will finance it?Is there a garantie again with only your mandir you are happy and peace is restored. They too will feel disturbed and hurt .Best is neither a temple nor a Mashid is built at that place.Instead build a neutral building to both communities can have some benefits instead of only fighting and killing,or hating.so peace comes back again.A mandir ,or Mashid ,would be for the future generation a magnet for fights.
