Udupi, Nov 10: An 83-year-old man, who was mentally depressed, unsuccessfully tried to commit suicide after writing a death note.

The incident took place at Malpe on Friday afternoon, November 9. Kodavoor resident Ramanna (83) after a misunderstanding at home tried to take the extreme step. He went to Malpe seashore and jumped into the sea to commit suicide. Fortunately, the life guard staff of Malpe beach nearby saw him. They rescued him and admitted in Udupi district hospital.

The elderly man who responded to the treatment is out of danger.
