Bengaluru: Yeddy condemns Jayachandra for criticizing Modi on note ban

Bengaluru, Nov 9: The attempt by Karnataka’s former Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T B Jayachandra to remind Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the demonetization exercise two years ago asking the people to bear the pain for 50 days and that he can be 'burnt alive' if he did not succeed and that the 'time has come to fulfil the wish’ has turned out to be a controversial issue.

State BJP President and former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa took sharp exception to Jayachandra’s remark and said "Going by the venom being spewing against Prime Minister NarendraModi by the Congressmen, it looks like that the leaders of the country’s oldest political party are a frustrated lot."

Jayachandra, while participating in the Congress party’s protest against the Modi government to mark the second anniversary of demonetization, had reminded the Prime Minister of his promise and asked him to gracefully quit as none of the stated objectives of the demonetization that wrecked the economy had been achieved.

Yeddyurappa claimed that the former Law & Parliamentary Affairs Minister and senior Congress leader T B Jayachandra had said in Tumkur today (Friday) that “Modi must be burnt alive”.

"This is absolutely an outrageous statement by any standard and by any parameter. What is shocking is that such a despicable statement has come from Jayachandra, who had functioned as the law and parliamentary affairs minister of our state. I demand an explanation from KPCC chief Dinesh Gundu Rao whether he endorses Jayachandra’s statement,’’ Yeddyurappa asked.

"To what extent and to what depth can these Congressmen fall? Jayachandra’s statement proves that the Congress party is desperate without any tangible issues to taken on the BJP in general and Narendra Modi in particular. Hence, time and again, the country’s oldest party is falling back on worn-out issues such as demonetisation, GST etc,’’ he said.

The BJP leader pointed out that the interesting part is that the people of North and West Indian states have expressed solidarity with the BJP thus emphatically endorsing demonetisation and GST by overwhelmingly voting for the BJP.

"It is obvious that the Congress party lives in time-warp as well as totally cut-off from the grass-root reality of Indian economy, Indian social and political happenings,’’ he said indicating that BJP is contemplating legal recourse against Jayachandra for his statement threatening the Prime Minister.

"The BJP government at the Centre headed by Modi has announced MSP to 16 crops,’’ he said adding: "But the Congress-JDS coalition government has not come forward to buy these crops from farmers thus making their life miserable.’’

"The Congress leaders are under illusion that they are more intelligent than the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. Both USA and Korea have named their economic restructuring as 'Modinomics' – Modi’s economic reforms have now become a doctrine. Congress leaders, who are criticising Modi day in and day out – must reply to this credit given to Modi by World Leaders,’’ Yeddyurappa said.

I don't understand one thing if the aim of demonitisation was pulling out black money by banning high denomination note of 500 and 1000 what logic it was to release 2000 notes.

There is no seriousness on the part of central government as finance minister jaitley speaks easily of demonetization as if it was introduced just for fun or for testing, PM was rhetoric at his best and hoodwinking the public by his speeches as if he was in a comedy show. who is responsible for the death of more than 100 people because of demonetisatin only. Now yeddy lot frustrated from recent election verdict and unprofessional-ism of himself and other BJP men started s-peaking too much without any valid points.
