Mysuru, Nov 7: In a bizarre incident which happened here on Tuesday November 6, state tourism minister, Sa Ra Mahesh, hurried out of a function organized at Manasagangotri, University of Mysore. The function was organized to dedicate the newly created cement sculptures of Gandhiji along with his followers, to the world.

Mahesh, it is said, was angry to find that the brochure brought out on the occasion did not contain names and photos of elected representatives. The brochures only had the names of officials, bureaucrats, Gandhians, and university officials. Mahesh was furious as he pointed out that the concerned come to ministers for getting funds sanctioned for such projects and when the issue of printing brochures is concerned, they forget them. The officials of the university reasoned later that they omitted to print the minister's name as he had expressed his inability to attend the function earlier.

District in-charge and higher education minister, G T Deve Gowda, dedicated the sculptures of Gandhiji and his followers erected at a five-acre plot at Gandhi Bhavan, to the world at the function. The department of Kannada and culture, Karnataka Shilpakala Academy, Rangayana and Centre for Gandhian Studies had organized the function.
