Karkala: Health Commission holds health convention at St Dominic Church Miyar

Karkala, Nov 6: Health Commission of Karkala deanary along with diocesan health commission organised doctors', nurses', paramedics' and members of health commission convention at Samudaya Bhavan, St Dominic Church, Miyar.

Bishop of Udupi, Dr Jerald Isaac Lobo presided over the function and inagurated the programme by lighting the lamp. He spoke about the importance of such gatherings as they are rich human resources of the diocese.

Fr Mark D'Souza SAC, director of the deanary health commission invoked the blessings of God and spoke about the importance of the convention. Dr Edward Lobo, director of diocesan health commission inspired them to conduct of these programmes under health commission.



Jerald D'Silva vice-president of St Dominic Church was on stage. The stage programme was followed by an interesting session by renowned resource persons.

Dr Fr Leslie D'souza enlightened the gathering on medical ethics and church teachings. Dr Leslie Luwis, KMC, Manipal spoke on the topic 'Respect and Dignity of human life'. Both the sessions were informative. About 120 health professionals of Karkala deanary took advantage of the convention. Rosario welcomed the gathering and Wilma gave the vote of thanks.

Kavitha D'Silva was mistress of ceremonies.

    This kind of conventions create awareness of health among people. It also brings the health professionals in the contact of general public. That paves the way for timely precautions and better treatment. Congratulations to Dr. Edward Lobo and other organisers.
