Mumbai, Nov 1: Former president of Bharath Cooperative Bank, leader of Billava community, hotelier, Billava Shiromani Sooru C Karkera (75) passed away at Safi Hospital, Charni road on the evening of October 31.
He hailed from Uchila, Udupi and was the president of Mahesh Lunch Home group. He sponsored several associations and was a social thinker. He extended financial support to several students.
He has left behind his wife, Bharath Bank director Sharada S Karkera, son BCCI director Mahesh S Karkera, a daughter and large number of friends and relatives.
His last rites were held this on November 1 morning at Chandanvadi crematorium, Marine lines.
