Udupi: Nirmala English Medium School celebrates Grandparents’ Day

Udupi, Oct 30: Nirmala English Medium School had organised a colourful programme for the grandparents of the school on October 27.

Niriksha welcomed the gathering. The aim of the programme was to appreciate the practical values of life in the older generation and to inculcate social values in the younger generation through wisdom, knowledge and commitments.

The correspondent Fr Victor Fernandes said, “Elders are the main pillars; they are the role model for youngsters. We should not underestimate or undermine the elders, but always show due respect to the elders.”



Headmaster Fr Joslie D’Silva, Fr Dominic, M H Devadiga and Latha presided over the programme. Latha, representative of grandparents addressed the gathering and said, “At present our parents are in high schedule, children are missing love and affection of their parents. In some cases sole responsibilities of bringing up the children lies in grandparents.”

School has organised various activities like funny games for grandparents. Children performed cultural activities for the grandparents. Kruthi rendered the vote of thanks and Prathiba was the master of ceremony of the programme. Headmaster, teaching and non-teaching staff were present and witnessed the programme which concluded refreshments.
