Modi greets Amit Shah on 54th birthday


New Delhi, Oct 22 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on his 54th birthday, saying his rigour and hard work were "great assets for the party".

"Greetings to BJP President Amit Shah on his birthday. Under Amit Bhai's leadership, the party has expanded significantly across India. His rigour and hard work are great assets for the party. I wish him a long and healthy life," Modi tweeted.

Besides Modi, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Railway Minister Piyush Goyal also greeted Shah.

"Warm birthday greetings to Amit Shahji, my party colleague and esteemed President of the Bharatiya Janata Party. May he be blessed with good health, long life and a successful year ahead," Jaitley tweeted.

Goyal said: "Under his leadership we have become the world's largest political party. I pray for his long and healthy life so that he can further contribute to nation building and development of India."

Rajnath Singh also greeted the Rajya Sabha MP, saying: "Amitji is known for his hard work and amazing organising skills. Under his leadership the party has risen to new heights. I pray for his healthy and long life."

Shah was born on October 22, 1964, in Mumbai.
