Mangaluru, Oct 20: John Suresh, a local Congress leader known for his social activism, was attacked by a lethal weapon near Lions Club, Bajal on Friday night, October 19.
A local rowdy sheeter identified as Guru followed John when he was heading home near Mangaladevi on his bike. The attacker who arrived in scooty stopped John and attacked him with a sharp weapon.
John managed to escape the life threatening attack and fled to his house, while the attacker threatened to kill him in the coming days. The incident came to light only on Saturday.
The locals admitted John to the hospital, who is now recovering.
Kankanady City police have registered a case against Guru.
