Celeb manager Anirban Blah, accused in #MeToo, attempts suicide; rescued

Mumbai, Oct 19(DC): Co-founder of talent management agency Kwan, Anirban Das Blah, who was accused by four women in the #MeToo movement in India, tried to commit suicide by jumping off the old Vashi bridge in Navi Mumbai late on Thursday night.

Anirban Das Blah, a celebrity manager was rescued by the Vashi Traffic Police.

He was reportedly seen climbing the barricades of the bridge when the police grabbed him and pulled him down. The police later said he looked depressed and in tears.

Earlier, Anirban Das Blah had been asked to step down after being accused of sexual harassment.

"We have asked Anirban Blah to forthwith step aside from his duties, activities and responsibilities at Kwan, its subsidiaries and affiliates with immediate effect," said a statement issued by the entertainment and marketing company earlier this week.

"The past few days have been very disturbing to everyone in the light of the #MeToo movement and it has pushed us all to take a step back and introspect whether each of us is doing enough to create a healthy and safe environment," the Kwan statement said, assuring a "safe and secure" working environment for its employees.

"We fully support the #MeToo movement and deprecate and condemn those who have exploited women in any form or manner. As a responsible corporate, we have taken assistance to ensure that we have efficient and appropriate processes to redress any complaint of misconduct in accordance with the law."

Kwan manages prominent names like Deepika Padukone, Sonam Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff, and Jacqueline Fernandez.

This is wrong decision taken by Anirban, when these celebrity girls attempted to get roles in tv serials and promotion as models they were ready do any thing to get that. but when their own popularity diminished this Me Too mania started. Instead of Anirban's suicide attempt he should have exposed these girls by starting U Too movement.

Almost all girls are sexually harassed in India at some point. Girls are harassed everywhere from Beedi rolling to Cine Stars professions. Me Too movement is targeting only the celebrities now. Just travel in Mangalore city buses and observe the behavior of young men. Thanks to chudi dhar and dhupatta. Girls are not comfortable to wear pants. If they do, you know where the lust eyes are looking at.

Me Too should go widespread identifying everyone who has sexually harassed women until men have changed their mind set towards the women and look them as their own mothers and sisters. However, report only the real harassment cases where no explicit or implicit consent was given. Men, please don't try to jump into the rivers. Face it. There is a due process of law. Courts will decide your case.

In future this ME too will be used as a black mail weapon on Men... Sincere request to all Elderly men .... pl do not bless any child girl, lady, woman in future by tapping her back of showering blessings on their head..... you might get a letter of ME TOO after some time that you had touched her and tried to do nonsense on here when she was young.... Yereg boduye...... Women want all facilities and equality in business, Power, Jobs etc..... there is a chance of shaking hand while rewarding or greeting in a business deal.... this might turn into a poweful weapon for such woman and might destroy the life of MEN for ever.... be careful...

    Take some tips from AlokNath.
File 1 or 2 rupee defamation case.
    Still if you are guilty.:
    Ask to be forgiven.
Now why are you attempting this
Our of guilt ...? Remorse ?
    Fall from grace ?
    Loss of face ???
    Reason it out.
    Suicide is never a solution.
For in the film industry as everyone knows
    Nothing comes for free.
Use and throw is the name of the game for both genders.
