The next hearing of the case will be on October 31 and Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat has obtained anticipatory bail well before the date.

It might be recalled that Kedila Shyam Prasad Shastry had committed suicide on August 31, 2014. During that time the alleged rape case on his sister-in-law Premalatha had spread througout the state. Shyam Prasad Shastry had shot himself at the same time as the news of Premalatha's rape was making rounds.
