Moodbidri: Student falls on road after bike skids, run over by bus

Moodbidri, Oct 18: In a tragic accident which took place on Wednesday, October 18, a college student died after he was thrown off his bike and came under the wheels of a private bus.

The deceased was Mohith (19), son of Mijar Daddi resident Seetharama Gowda, a diploma student in of a college in Moodbidri.

According to sources, he was returning home with his friend from college on his bike on Wednesday evening when the bike skidded due to slush on NH 169 and he fell on the road. Meanwhile, a private bus was on its way towards Moodbidri ran over, killing him on the spot.

Rishab, the pillion rider escaped unhurt.

A case is registered at Moodbidri police station.

    thats why nothing happens to me, slush on road, or bad roads have a straight vision when driving on highways nothing will happen even if some other fellow breaks the road, trust me i am one of the drivers who look long ..... maybe a distance of one km in some cases, and apply your knowledge and technical driving skills . know your roads know yourself and get skilled nothing will happen dont speed when you shouldnt

    Sad news. .

    Education to the riders by the authorities is not enough about the awareness for the road safety and driving cations. Proper education shall be provided before issuing the license to protect young lives.

    This is the cheapest means of transport. Government has to ban bikes but then difficult for people who cannot afford a car.

    Yes very much correct we should stop giving bike to young generation
    Till they reach the age of 30
    Daily we see one of two young peoples dieing because of this
    We too went to college by bus or cycle
    Better to take above one of this

    Rest In Peace . Most deaths of youngsters now are caused by either accidents or by drowning . Those who drive bikes and two wheelers on Indian roads should pray everyday that they return home Alive.
