Madikeri, Oct 17: Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Wednesday, October 17, declared that the state government is committed to rebuild flood-hit Kodagu.

Speaking after meeting flood victims in Kodagu on October 17, Kumaraswamy said, "I do not want to play politics here. I have come here to listen to your grievances. Some people had said that if I visit Bhagamandala, I will lose my power. But it is not true and I do not believe in it."

Earlier, MLA Appachur Ranjan had submitted a memorandum to the chief minister seeking help to rebuild Kodagu.

Meanwhile, speaking about farm loan waiver, Kumaraswamy said, "If the nationalised banks had co-operated with the state government, we would have waived off the loans taken in nationalised banks too."
