Daijiworld Media Network – Bagalkot (DC)

Bagalkote, Oct 17: Former chief minister and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah announced on Wednesday, October 17 that he has decided to bid adieu to electoral politics.

Speaking at a public programme in Guledagudda town in Badami on October 17, Siddaramaiah said, "I have faced as many as 13 elections. I am 71-year-old. I will work for five years on whatever post I am holding and I will not contest elections anymore."

He opined that to undertake developmental activities, one does not need to contest an election. "Since I am the MLA of Badami, I am also from north Karnataka," he said with a smile.

He also conveyed Dasara wishes to the people of north Karnataka.

    A politician needs wit.
    A leader needs followers.
    A champion needs to win.
    A social worker needs compassion.
A deliverer needs to stand by his commitments.
A fighter needs to calculate his moves to win over his opponents.

All the above put together is Siddaramaiah-ji. He is a fit candidate to become Prime Minister for India, sometime in the near future.

When will he contest. His boss Pappu has appointed him as the peon of Mr, and Mrs HDK. Even if he contest he will lose badly . He is now like Janardhana Poojari who only talks and challeneges and when elections come, they defeat by a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge margin.

He did few blunders - VIP treatment to Chor Sasi Amma, Tippu Jayanti, dividing Hindus and----. I feel pity for him. Rahul is partly responsible for his current situation even though he is a good leader.

Shri Siddaramaiah is a very clean politician who has not stained his attire with corruption charges. And his decision to retire gracefully should be applauded. Shri Siddaramaiah is also the CM of new age, who brought back old caste/religion politics to Karnataka. I think that is what ended his political significance in Karnataka and also Congress's!

How many times he has announced this ?. Come next election whether it is MP, MLA or MLC, Siddaramaiah will be definitely a candidates. Living example are Deve Gowda his guru, N D Tiwari, L.K.Advani, it is an unending list. These rogue politician want to die when they hold power so that, they get a state funeral and all their medical cost either in India or abroad are met by government.

Good decision from Sidduji, India need honest politicians to serve the people. Our politics should go back to 1950,60 era. Where leaders ready to die for country and people.

    People,

Very few people retire from electoral politics honorably...Even though I don't agree with Sidda in anything...I respect him for retiring from electoral politics voluntarily and Gracefully....

See our 3 Vidhwaans of DK...they are in their 80s...Still they have no plans to retire...till God calls them...

They think by coloring their hair....they can fool everybody...including Almighty God...

Also waiting for Yeddy, Shobhakka and Eshwarappa's announcement...

    ...Tak...Takk...

When there is no place left in party..what else veteran can do. They arrange breakfast meeting minus sidda. It's big insult to former chief minister. He tried hard to place himself in right place in the party but in vain. What one can do instead of saying adieu to party. When person not in power..nobody cares. Kept many hopes by congress..but he disappointed a lot..not on mark even in two constituencies.
Eela...bhagyas and jayanthis backlash. Please I dont want to comment.
