Bengaluru, Oct 17: Senior Kabaddi trainer of Sports Authority of India (SAI), Rudrappa V Hosamani, ended his life at a lodge at Harihara in the sate. His decomposed body was recovered from his room in the lodge on Monday.

Rudrappa belonged to Rattihalli in Haveri district. He had been suspended on October 11 on the allegation of improper behaviour with a girl at the SAI centre in north Bengaluru here. Director general of Sai, Neelam Kapoor, had directed Hosamani to visit the head office of SAI at New Delhi. Rudrappa had told his family that he was leaving for New Delhi, but preferred to go to Harihar instead and stay in a lodge there. He hired a room on October 12. As he did not come out of the room for two days the hotel staff broke open the room door in the presence of the police on October 15 and found his decomposed body inside. Later, Rudrappa's elder brother, Ujinappa from Rattihalli, filed a police complaint.

In an incident which happened on October 9 at the dressing room of Kabaddi area 13-year-old trainee, who was with Hosamani then, had raised an alarm and rushed out of the room. She had accused the coach of molesting her and also informed her family members who had assaulted him. An internal committee which looked into the incident on October 10 had suspended him. A complaint was also filed at Jnanabharathi police station here against him.

In a railway ticket he had with him, Rudrappa, addressing the director general of SAI, said that his wife and son are innocent and asked her to help them out. He also said that he does not have any wrong opinion about SAI.

Hosamani has left a suicide note in a white paper in which he said he was going through extreme pain, sought forgiveness from his wife and son and asked his son to look after his mother well. He also asked them to donate his body to a hospital.
