Kundapur, Oct 17: “An election campaign meeting is scheduled at Vandse Nempu circle on October 18 at 4 pm in view of Shivamogga Lok Sabha by election. BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa will take part in the meeting,” said Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty.

Speaking to news reporters on Tuesday, he added that candidate B Y Raghavendra, Udupi – Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje, Vidhana Parishad opposition leader Kota Srinivas Poojary, Udupi MLA and party leaders will be present in the campaign meeting.

“While BJP's Yeddyurappa won by 47 thousand votes in last Lok Sabha elections in Byndoor, the gap was 25 thousand votes in the recent elections. Our candidate will win by 50 thousand votes in the by elections. When Raghavendra was the MP he has provided more than Rs 600 crores only for Byndoor. People have not forgotten that pro people work and they will support him again,” he said.

“Congress and JDS are running the government with unholy alliance in the state. But loan waiver of the farmers is still in confusion. It is not fair to use temple money for compensation to flood victims. There is no Congress candidate in Shivamogga. JDS has no support in Byndoor. Therefor there is no doubt that Raghavendra will win by maximum number of votes,” he said.

“If B Y Raghavendra wins by elections, state president B S Yeddyurappa will become the chief minister by next one and a half months. The drinking water problem will be solved and basic facilities will be provided then. The long awaited Gangolli – Kundapur bridge will also be possible,” he said.

BJP state secretary Thingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, Sadananda Uppinakudru and Deepak Kumar Shetty were present.
