Mumbai: Mysore Association holds two day long festival of Kannada associations

Mumbai, Oct 15: Karnataka state government with the cooperation of different Kannada organizations in Maharashtra held a two day long country festival at Mysore association auditorium, Matunga on October 13. Retired inspector general of police Gopal Hosoor inaugurated the festival.

Karnataka Natak academy former president Srinivas G Kannappa, police officials Ananda Reddy, K Suresh and Mysore association president Kamala Kantaraj were on the dais. Association office bearers presented flower bouquets to the guests and honored them.



Well known dramatist and director Hulugappa Katteema, Mogaveera Bank executive president Sadananda A Kotian, Mysore Association secretary Dr Ganapathi Shankeralinga, Dr Sunita M Shetty, K Manjunathayya, B K Madhusoodan and other elite were present.

Pooja and party sang a welcome song. K Arpita and party performed Kolata and NKES Kannada teachers sang Nadageethe. Dr B R Manjunath explained about Nadageethe and Navarathri, introduced the guests and thanked them.

A festival procession was held from national Kannada school till Mysore Association with band and dances. School children performed dances. A drama titled 'Jategiruvanu Chandira' written by Jayanta Kaikini and directed by Hulugappa Katteema was staged in the end.
