Sourabh trying to 'break free from image of God'

Mumbai, Oct 13 (IANS): Actor Sourabh Raaj Jain, who struck a chord with the masses by playing the character of Lord Krishna in a TV show, says he is trying to get rid of the image of God by portraying different roles.

Sourabh, who was last seen in "Mahakali- Anth hi Aarambh Hai" as Lord Shiva, will play the baddie in the show "Porus".

"I worked with this unit for long on my previous shows so, they're kind of amused around me on the set. This particular role is tricky to pull off so even when I'm not in a shot, I'm making an effort to wear the character like a second skin and behave in a certain way to get the hang of it and own it one day," Sourabh said in a statement.

"This role requires me to be perpetually high on energy so, off camera, I'm joking around. They see me differently now and I'm secretly enjoying the process."

He is also enjoying playing his part.

"I'm trying to break free from the image of God, something that I have been wanting to do. There was always an unsaid responsibility to act a certain way when I played the role of God on television as viewers get involved and attached. I'm happy about the fact that I won't be giving anymore 'gyaan' now," he said.
