Bengaluru: Rahul Gandhi’s talk with HAL employees to be held at Cubbon Park on Oct 13

Bengaluru, Oct 11: Instead of Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s original plan of addressing the past and present employees of public sector undertaking, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) inside the company’s premises on the Narendra Modi government’s controversial decision for purchasing Rafale fighter jets from France, the meeting will now be held in Cubbon Park in Bengaluru on October 13.

Both the Karnataka High Court and Vidhana Soudha are close to the Cubbon Park.

The Congress party has been targeting the Modi government of irregularities and corruption in the award of the offset manufacturing contract from the French company Dassault at the insistence of the NDA regime ignoring HAL and favouring the Anil Ambani led Reliance outfit, which was formed just 15 days before the deal for purchase of 36 Rafale aircrafts was signed in Paris.

The state unit of Congress has planned a an interaction programme of Congress president Rahul Gandhi with former and current employees of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) on the Rafale controversy at Cubbon Park in the City on Saturday.

Speaking to presspersons here on Thursday, KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao said that the Congress has not sought permission from the HAL for conducting the programme inside the premises.

About 100 employees and ex-employees would participate in the programme, he said.wever, a public meeting of Rahul Gandhi at public ground at K R Puram has been cancelled owing to security reasons.

The HAL employees union has told a section of the media that it would not give permission to the Congress President to conduct the programme inside its premises.

An official source in the HAL said that it had not received any communication with regard to Rahul Gandhi’s interaction programme with its employees.

The history and growth of the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited is synonymous with the growth of Aeronautical industry in India for more than 77 years.
In March 1941, the Government of India became one of the shareholders in the Company holding 1/3 of its paid-up capital and subsequently took over its management in 1942. In collaboration with the Inter Continental Aircraft Company of USA, Hindustan Aircraft Company commenced its business of manufacturing of Harlow Trainer, Curtiss Hawk Fighter and Vultee Bomber Aircraft.

The Company had built aircraft and engines of foreign design under licence, such as Prentice, Vampire and Gnat aircraft. It also undertook the design and development of aircraft indigenously. In August 1951, the HT-2 Trainer aircraft, designed and produced by the company under the able leadership of Dr. V.M.Ghatge flew for the first time. Over 150 Trainers were manufactured and supplied to the Indian Air Force and other customers. With the gradual building up of its design capability, the company successfully designed and developed four other aircraft i.e. two seater 'Pushpak' suitable for flying clubs, 'Krishak' for Air Observatory Post(AOP) role, HF-24 Jet Fighter '(Marut)' and the HJT-16 Basic Jet Trainer '(Kiran)'.
The programs underway at HAL are production of SU-30 MKI, LCA & DO-228 Aircraft;Dhruv-ALH, Chetak & Cheetal Helicopters, and Repair Overhaul of Jaguar, Kiran MkI/IA/II, Mirage, HS-748, AN-32, MiG 21, Su-30MKI, Hawk & DO-228 aircraft; & ALH, Cheetal, Cheetah & Chetak helicopters.

Why the deal is given to a 12-day old private company company with zero credentials much to the detriment to the security of the nation and 78-year-old HAL was ignored?

Is the Prime Minister Modi's 'Make in India' or 'Snatch jobs of Indian public sector'?

You apply for a visa to visit France, they ask so many questions in the visa form and want to get themselves satisfied with your financial conditions. Here is a company, formed 15 days before, with a paid up capital of 5 lakhs without any known activity. Such company is selected on merit to manufacture Refale jets. Honourable PM takes Anil Ambani instead of HAL MD. Even to open a pakoda shop in Mumbai, you require 50 lakhs.

I also checked, yes the paid up capital is Rs 5 lakhs. That is not sufficient to stay 3 days in a French 5 star hotel.
