Bengaluru: Charges of land grabbing - A Manju threatens Revanna to move court

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Oct 11: The Congress and JD(S) leaders had hurled choicest abuses against each other and traded charges during election campaigning. However, once the coalition government was formed, it appeared that they had buried the hatchet, and an uneasy calm seemed to have settled down in the government, with a rumble here and there.

Manju, who fought from Arkalgud constituency on Congress ticket this year, was defeated by JD(S) candidate, A T Ramaswamy.

Former animal husbandry and fisheries minister in Siddaramaiah cabinet and Congress leader, A Manju, had last month levelled allegations of usurping government land against PWD minister, H D Revanna and his family members. Revanna had retorted by saying that he had done nothing wrong, he was open to any kind of probe and the concerned were free to take whatever action they deem fit. He had dared Manju to file an official complaint.

On Wednesday October 10, Manju came into the open and threatened to file suit against Revanna over the annexing huge tract of government land. Manju said as already stated by him earlier, he had written to the deputy commissioner of the district along with sufficient material evidences about the fraud played by Revanna and others in his family relating to the above charges. He gave three days to the deputy commissioner to act, and said that he would approach the court if she fails to take any action within three days.

Manju had briefed media persons last month about how government land was acquired through dubious means by Revanna and after several years, how it was transferred in the names of him and his family members. He said that the family had followed ulterior methods to take control over 69 acres of government land in a village in Hassan district.
