Puttur, Oct 11: In an incident which happened at Gundya near Uppinangadi on Wednesday October 10, a couple which was travelling to Subramanya in a car with the aim of ending their lives, met with an accident that was engineered by the girl.

In this accident, the girl suffered serious injuries and stands admitted into a private hospital at Mangaluru.

A young man, identified as Sharanya alias Sharanayya (20) from Hallikhed in Humnabad taluk, Bidar district, had left in his car with his 17-year-old lover on October 5. The couple reached Dharmasthala on October 8 and tried to rent a room. But it is said that they were refused accommodation in the lodges there as the people suspected them not be husband and wife.

In the meantime, the family of the girl had filed a police complaint, claiming that the girl had been kidnapped. The man and girl, who came to know about this, developed cold feet. They decided to end their lives and were moving towards Subramanya to kill themselves when the accident was caused.

The youth told the police that the girl felt it would be better to die in an accident rather than committing suicide. She thereafter forcefully turned the steering of the car to one side. The car veered to a side of the road and hit a mud wall. In a statement made to the police, Sharanayya said that in this accident, his lover sustained serious injuries.

The girl is in the hospital, and the young man has been taken into custody by the police as a case of kidnap has been filed in Bidar district. The girl has been given police protection, and the police from Bidar are expected to take the youth away on Thursday, October 11.

Just filing a complaint of kidnapping, won't in anyway prove that the girl was innocent. Resolve the matter with both families, don't create a tamasha for others to enjoy. Keep pride and ego aside.

Tell the truth means, he is telling others to tell the truth. It is similar like "Read Bible, I am going to Bangkok"
