Doha: Feast of Our Lady of Rosary celebrated with great fervor

Doha, Oct 8: The church of Our Lady of Rosary celebrated the annual feast of the parish on October 5 in the church campus with great devotion and fervor. Thousands of expatriates from different nationalities joined the celebration to praise and thank Lord for the gift of Our Lady of Rosary as the patron of the parish.

The celebrations started with a festival solemn Mass in the main church. After the Mass, a procession with the image of Our Lady of Rosary, beautifully decorated with colorful flowers was carried around the parish grounds.



Cultural and food fiesta was officially inaugurated by the parish priest of Our Church of the Lady Rosary, Qatar Fr Rally Gonzaga. The evening was filled with entertainment and fun with a fun filled programme from the different communities of the church. French, Spanish, Filipino, African, Indonesian, Konkani, Syro Malabar, Syro Malankara, Tamil and the Catechism groups all gave a cultural glimpse of their communities which was treat to all those who had gathered to witness the celebrations. Young and the old alike presented some foot tapping numbers which added glamour to the festive mood.

Fr Peter P Mathew, vicar general of the Apostolic Vicar of Norther Arabia, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. He assured the faithful that the Blessed Mother is always with us in our daily endeavor in reaching out to her Son Jesus.

Reena Castelino and Peroz Pereira were the hosts of the evening.

Each of the communities set up food stalls that gave the gathered an opportunity to taste of various cuisines from different parts of the world.

Fr Rally Gonzaga thanked all the parishioners for their involvement and support on the success of the celebration of the feast of the church of Our Lady of Rosary.
