Bengaluru, Sep 12: Karnataka water resources minister, D K Shivakumar, expressing belligerence and bravado, said that he is prepared to whatever challenges he may have to face, having been targeted by BJP. "I will prove myself, by doing what I have planned to do, at the right time," he thundered.
Shivakumar, who was on a visit to New Delhi reportedly to handle worrying developments relating to financial irregularities attributed to him, spent time till evening in an unknown destination after returning to the state capital. Speaking to media persons on Tuesday September 11 evening, the minister said that as he had already stated, he likes to play chess, and therefore, wants the opponent to make a move first. "This is politics. We will make calculated moves and anything can happen anytime," he stated.
About the accusation of Jarkiholi brothers about his interference in Belagavi district politics, Shivakumar said he knows Jarkiholi brothers well and that they are loyal supporters of the party. He said whenever he was invited by them, he had participated in their programmes. "I helped them then and even now I extend support to them. Satish Jarkiholi happens to be a veteran leader of our party. I will speak to him. There is nothing wrong in the aspiration of Satish Jarkiholi to become chief minister. It is natural for every politician to nurse such ambitions and set goals for themselves. I will be happy if he becomes the chief minister," he said.
