Mangaluru, Aug 10: Heavy rains which continued to pour across the city have hit normal life with many roads flooded here on Friday, August 10.

Malemar road was completely flooded and cannot be used at least for some hours.

Also the main roads at Kottara Chowki were waterlogged.

The Malemar road is inundated with knee high water flowing on the road causing inconvenience to the commuters.

Even the drainage in these areas are overflowing and the rain water has entered compound of several residences.

Some people said that though the similar situation prevailed earlier too, the people's representatives have failed to take adequate measures.

The assurances by the leaders have remained unfulfilled to give permanent solution to water logging and drainage issues, they complained.

How many new bars sprout in the city each month? How many lakhs do they pay for the permit? 50-60 lakhs? What is the bribe to permit the bars? 50-60 lakhs? Each one is bothered about once own business. Don't blame the british, we too are divided on the basis of political party affiliation, religion, caste, profit and ignorance of rights. Who cares this situation in Namma Kudla? Where are the political parties? Illiterate idiots are our representatives. How they visited developed countries to see how well planned their roads are?

The MCC engineers should be arrested for the mess of water logging on the roads.. The reason is due to the height of the newly laid concrete roads and as the storm water drains are closed with mud there is no way for the water to follow, it’s either flows on the road or flows into the compound . Even frequent calls informing the problems of water logging in The compounds were brought to the notice of our area to our corporate Kavita Sanil ( Ex Mayor) which has gone on deaf ears.

MCC should make sure that all the Water Channelswhich are either encroached or being covered with concrete are free for the flow of water.
