Bengaluru: Amit Shah confident of another Operation Lotus - reports

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Aug 9: As per information, national president of BJP Amit Shah has not poured cold water on belligerence of the state level BJP leaders, who were eager to launch 'Operation Lotus' in the state in an attempt to topple the coalition government here. Reportedly, Shah is convincingly confident about the success of this operation in Karnataka. But instead of speaking about it openly, he has begun the homework , as per reports.

It is learnt that Shah has sought a list of dissident Congress and JD(S) leaders who are prepared to cross over to BJP or support the party from outside. This issue also came up for discussion during the visit of state BJP president and leader of the opposition in the assembly, B S Yeddyurappa, to New Delhi, on Tuesday. Yeddyurappa is believed to have given the names of Congress leaders, M B Patil, Satish Jarkiholi, B C Patil, and others who are in contact with the BJP leadership.

Shah, who gave Yeddyurappa a patient hearing, expressed the view that trying to unseat the government without proper reasons can sully the reputation of the party. He also opined that it would be better if the party waits for some sort of misunderstanding to arise as a result of ministry expansion between the leaders of other parties. Before saying anything else in the matter, he sought a list of at least 25 legislators from other parties who are prepared to fight against the current government.

Shah seems to be taking every step carefully in the light of the experience the party had immediately after the election when BJP was invited to form the government. It is believed that he wants to keep an eye on the moves of the dissidents from other parties based on the list provided by the BJP, and make an effort to defeat the government once the party is confident that it has hundred percent chance of winning the confidence vote. There is also a thinking that during the Lok Sabha elections, many disgruntled leaders from Congress and JD(S) might support the BJP, in which case the party will have enough strength to establish clear majority.

A list of leaders who are eager to cross over to BJP, which reportedly has since been submitted to Shah, contain the names of former ministers, A Manju and Cheluvarayaswamy, former legislators, H C Balakrishna and K N Rajanna and MLC, Puttanna. The party is also said to be considering the pros and cons of enticing H C Balakrishna or Puttanna to join BJP and field them from the rural Lok Sabha constituency here as a BJP candidate.

The loss of Karnataka in spite of the EVM's and the Governor giving Yeddy 15 days to prove his majority has been a Big Blow not only to Yeddy but more so for Amit Shah and Modi. Yeddy is a man in a hurry because at the young age of 75 it is now or never. High time he takes political sanyas or retirement.

The BJP's 'Lotus' can only bloom in 'Kichad'. So Amith Shah and his party only trust its confidence in EVM and buying elected opposition leaders.

The party of difference shining India proud be ruling more states than former Indira Gandhi Congress. But in reality BJP in ruling using muscle and money. Namely Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Manipur, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra all run on blank cheque to the opposition to remain in power.

When they can't face ballots, EVM comes to its help. If they can't secure requisite numbers they go on buying spree.

This is one of the weakest system in our Electoral system. We Indian need reforms in our electoral system. No elected members should be allowed to switch party before the complete tenure of the ruling of the state assembly. If candidate violates it is against the mandate of the voters regardless of the party.

I request Association for Democratic Rights or like minded citizens of India to file petition in Supreme Court through PIL to challenge the law switching party by an elected members.

The BJP has ruined the Jammu and Kashmir through the coalition. Save Karnataka from another 'operation Kamala' to be failed J&K.

Desperate Amit Shah cannot digest the humiliation got from Karnataka. Congress secured 37% votes and BJP secured 35% votes. EVM only gave them some better results.

Now this Amit Shah, will go to any extent for power.

Desperate and frustrated measures. First try to come to power with the Governor's support through the back door, Next try and bribe opposition legislators and then try to divide the state through the crooked Reddy brothers and gang. All that failed and now again, new attempts to buy opposition legislators. My advice is, stop trying to buy people, instead use that money to buy stray cows. I am sure Gomatha will bless you.

Modi created his popularity by giving this kind of reports only. What make Shah confident ? His son's overnight riches ? Demonetization ? GST ? Petrol/Diesel/cooking gas prices ?

If the money BJP spent on self-image-building had been used on social causes, so many crimes out of poverty would not have taken place in India.
