Udupi: Congress activist attacked by BJP supporters for installing CCTV camera

Udupi, August 6: A Congress activist who had installed CCTV camera at his house was thrashed by BJP supporters here in Badanidiyur on Sunday, August 5.

Sunil D’Souza (32) had installed CCTV camera at his house three months ago during assembly elections. Few youth members of an association were creating nuisance in the vicinity having drinks late in the night and Sunil had objected the same. The association members had pressurised him to remove the camera to which he did not oblige.

On Sunday night, two men, both named Sandeep, who are supposedly the members of the BJP were sent by nearby gram panchayat president and BJP leader Umesh Poojary to Sunil’s house. The duo arrived to his house and attacked him with an iron rod.

Sunil who has been shifted to Ajjarkad hospital has alleged that his gold chain worth Rs 75,000 is missing after the attack.

The footage of the incident has also been captured by the CCTV camera.

A case has been registered at Malpe police station.

    Political Goondagiri still not there in our Tulunad. You can find it only in Kerala and West Bengal. There must be something fishy in this incident. Let state government investigate and punish the culprit.

    Congress party already been thrashed by the people in the election, what is the point in thrashing the supporter. Every person supports one or the other party. Now a days in every incident the media mention (selectively) the political party/ religion of each person who involved in the incident. Let them practice it in every incident in future.

    It has been noticed that some of these same uneducated jobless people do not have money even to marry off their grown up own sisters but ready to spoil others life who live peacefully.

    During election time, these Jobless uneducated people are given enough money and booze to support the party. Political leaders even promise them to get a Job or help to get an agency if they win the election, Once the election is over again the same situation, again these Goondas hunt for victims to trap for money, if they are arrested then there will be strike from the organisation and even they link it to the university and pressurize children to bunk the class & strike to support these uneducated goons.

    What is he wears gold ? What if he installed CCTV ? Please find fault with those who do wrong, not with who help the law keepers by spending from his own pocket. Because, many times the police as for CCTV records to catch culprits. One such culprits were guilty and were pressurizing him to remove the camera system.
