Haveri: Speared by javelin, SSLC student loses life

Haveri, Jul 12: In a tragic incident which happened in the sports stadium of government high school at Keravadi village, Bydadi taluk in the district on the evening of Tuesday July 11, a SSLC student was pierced by a javelin. The boy, whose nature of injury was grave, breathed his last on Wednesday.

The victim of this incident was Mallikrihan Dadapeer Meranj (16). The javelin thrown by someone directly pierced a part of his neck.

Immediately after that the boy suffered critical injuries, he was rushed to Byadagi hospital and then to the district hospital here. Thereafter, in an effort to save his life, he was rushed to Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubballi. But he breathed his last on Wednesday.

A case about the incident was registered at Kaginele police station. The teacher who was in charge of the event has been blamed for not taking enough care to keep students out of danger during this event.
