Congress merely talked of ‘garibi hatao’, Modi govt transformed lives of poor, says Amit Shah

Jharkhand, Jul 11 (PTI): BJP president Amit Shah on Wednesday said the Congress merely talked of “garibi hatao” (remove poverty) during its 60-year rule whereas Prime Minister Narendra Modi took various initiatives to transform the lives of tribal and poor people as he, having lived in poverty, knew what it was to be poor.

Shah said the Congress kept the tribal and poor populations underdeveloped, but the Narendra Modi government gave them priority in development leading to their all-round progress in just four years. The BJP president, on a one-day visit to Jharkhand to tone up the party organisation ahead of next year’s Lok Sabha election, was addressing a function of intellectuals of “Janjatiya Samaj” (tribal society).

The Congress had been talking of ‘garibi hatao’ but it is Modi who took pro-poor initiatives to transform the lives of the tribal and poor populace, Shah said. “How life is without electricity? What happens to the poor when he or his family is struck by any disease? And this is the reason his government is administering the country on the philosophy of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ (collective efforts, inclusive growth),” he said.

Accusing the opposition of “misleading” the people against the Centre and the BJP-ruled state governments, Shah claimed, “What the four-year-old Narendra Modi government did, the Congress failed to do in 60 years of its rule.”

Shah said that when the NDA government was formed, Modi had promised that the government would be of the poor, the Dalits and the tribals and it had worked in that direction only. And it has shown results as vaccination for all most all the downtrodden including ST families has been completed, crores of bank accounts have been opened under the Jan Dhan Yojana, 10 crore poor families, that is, 50 crore people are being insured under the new health insurance scheme for Rs five lakh, he said listing the NDA government’s achievements.

Most of the districts of Jharkhand, which were lagging behind in development, have been included in the central government’s scheme for development at par with the other developed districts, he said. The central government has disbursed over four lakh crore of rupees in the last four years to the Jharkhand government for its all-round development. Out of the four lakh crore rupees, given to Jharkhand, Rs 1.7 lakh crore was given against the auction of mines.

He claimed that the Modi government has electrified 20,000 villages of the country that remained without electricity even after 60 years of Independence and most of these villages were tribal-dominated or remote. Shah said that it was a historic decision on the part of the Modi government to raise the minimum support price (MSP) for Kharif crops to one-and-half times the cost of production.

He appreciated the works being done by the Raghubar Das government in Jharkhand. The state government was committed to providing electricity to all homes in Jharkhand by this year-end. Besides meeting the intellectuals, Shah held meetings with BJP’s assembly constituencies in-charge and office-bearers of the party at party office. Shah is also slated to meet volunteers of the party’s social media unit.

Amit's real definition of 'Garibi Hatao'.

    a) Turnover of a company owned by Shah’s son increased 16,000 times over in the year following election of Narendra Modi
    b) Revenue from company owned by Amit Shah’s son jumped from just Rs 50,000 to over Rs 80 crores in just 1 year.
    c) Firm of Amit Shah’s son, whose business is chiefly stock trading, turns to windmill generation with PSU loan.

Now even Shah is contesting with his master/s in Fekugiri.

Or else what he meant was that BJp opened Jan Dhan accounts for poor with 1 Rupee opening balance. Even this task of opening the accounts was forced on bankers. So put 1 rupee themselves to keep the account active.

Masters in deceiving the common man.

So we have now Garib hatao.

For the Bullet train for the rich Gujarati businessmen, a large number of Garibs are forced to leave their land.

Various methods are applied to force these poor people off their land, so the rich Gujarati businessmen can have their 150,000 crores Bullet train.

The fifth five year plan was launched by Indira Gandhi government for a time period of 1974–1979.The objective of the plan was poverty alleviation but the slogan “Garibi Hatao” was not given to this. In 1980,congress government officially launched sixth five year plan for 1980 to 1985 with the slogan “Garibi Hatao”. So it was sixth five year plan which had Garibi Hatao as a slogan.

In this plan top priority was given to agriculture, next came to industry and mines. Overall this plan was successful which achieved the growth of 4.8% against the target of 4.4%. The draft of this plan was prepared and launched by the D.P. Dhar.

In 1947, during the time of Independence, only 1,500 of India’s villages were electrified.

Between 2005 and 2014, the UPA-I and UPA-II governments connected over 1,082,280 villages to the grid and connections were provided to over 20 million households, out of which 19 million were given free connections.

When the Modi government announced its new rural electrification scheme, only 18,452 villages did not have power supply.

This meant that on average, the UPA electrified 12,030 villages per year while the Modi government electrified 4,842. Granted, most of the 18,000 odd villages the current administration had to tackle are in far-flung areas and remote locations, making its task doubly harder.

Now Amit Shah talks like he is graduated from 'Jio university' which don't exist. Forget about 70 years past of Congress ruling in India, let BJP put the 'poverty elevation' index in the official portal of the government achived in the last four years of PM Modi's government.
It is talk rather than delivering promise.

But the thing no one (except bhakts) can understand is that- he closed the doors of that company which suddenly returned crores of profit from the losses the previous year.

But Mr. Modi is providing corruption free government. Sorry, free corruption government.

Take example of Rafale deal where he paid 3 times what UPA had agreed for the same aircrafts. Moreover the contract was given to Ambani to assemble/development of the aircrafts; who had zero experience in the defense field. Now no body gets a chaprasi job without experience. Wah Modi Ji, you are really great.
