Udupi, Jul 8: Notorious underworld element, Bannanje Raja, who was granted a day’s release from the prison to visit his ailing mother on July 9, reached Bannanje on Sunday, July 8.

The judge had granted him a day’s release from the prison enabling him to visit his ailing mother. He was escorted by personnel from Hindalga jail in Belagavi.

Bannanje Raja would be lodged at Udupi police station overnight.

Bannanje Raja was arrested in 2015 in Morocco. As many as 16 criminal cases are booked against Bannanje Raja which include shootout, robbery and murder.
